Breaking Borders Book One Release 2.14.27.

The Biggest Dark Romance Trilogy of 2027, 2028 & 2029

I will be hosting exclusive live immersion events to celebrate the release, where I will invite you my readers to step into chapters.

The love story of the century that’s heralded around the world.

The love affair that was never supposed to happen — and the greatest one you won’t be able to walk away from

Isa Álvarez has one rule: stay invisible. Her little restaurant is her sanctuary, her community her shield. Because Isa is undocumented — and one wrong move could cost her everything.

Then Ethan Miller walks through her door. Sharp-eyed. Magnetic. A man who sees through her walls far too easily. She knows he’s dangerous, but she never guesses just how dangerous until the truth hits: Ethan is ICE. The very badge she’s spent her life running from.

He crosses paths with her, he knows three things instantly: She’s beautiful. He’s attracted to her. He must have her.

They have chemistry but are they compatible?

But Ethan isn’t just his badge. And Isa isn’t just her status. Together, they’re breaking borders.

The pull between them is impossible to deny, even as it risks tearing both their worlds apart.

Now, every look, every touch, every secret between them is a risk neither can afford. But the pull is undeniable. And as their worlds collide, Isa and Ethan must decide—betray their duty, or betray their hearts.

Breaking Borders is a searing dark romantic thriller about forbidden love, dangerous secrets, and the courage to risk it all for a chance at freedom.

A Dark Romance

A dark romantic thriller isn’t just a love story with danger in it.

It’s what happens when love and danger become the same language.

It’s tension you don’t get to put down. The kind that lives in the body—tight in the chest, quiet in the breath, always waiting for something to shift. It’s desire braided with fear, where every moment of closeness carries risk, and every risk deepens the attachment instead of breaking it.

The romance isn’t soft.

It’s earned under pressure.

People don’t fall in love in safe, well-lit spaces—they find each other in the middle of something unraveling. Lies, violence, past choices that don’t stay buried. And instead of walking away, they stay. Not because it’s easy, but because something in them recognizes the other—flawed, dangerous, necessary.

Psychologically, it’s about control and surrender happening at the same time.

Who do you trust when everything is unstable?
What do you reveal when the truth can cost you everything?
How much of yourself do you give to someone who could destroy you—and why does that feel inevitable instead of reckless?

The thriller side drives the pace—movement, stakes, consequence.
But the romance is what makes it hurt.

Because it’s not just about surviving what’s happening around them.

It’s about surviving each other.

And still choosing to stay.

That’s what makes it dark.

Not the violence. Not the danger.

But the fact that even in the middle of it— they don’t want out.

Chemistry vs. Compatibility

Chemistry is instant. It’s the spark you feel the moment eyes lock across a room. It’s butterflies, racing pulses, the magnetic pull that makes every glance dangerous and every touch unforgettable. Chemistry is why Isa and Ethan can’t look away, even when they should.

Compatibility is slower. It’s the test of time—shared values, resilience, the ability to weather storms together. It’s not just the fire that ignites, but the foundation that holds. Compatibility is why Isa and Ethan can build something lasting, even as the world tries to tear them apart.

Most love stories stop at one or the other. But the most powerful ones—like Isa and Ethan’s—demand both. The spark that ignites and the strength that endures.

Isa Álvarez

Her shoulder-length hair is soft,

straight and chestnut brown. Her face is round and smooth with big brown eyes, complementing a sand-toned complexion a dome nose and full soft lips and a button chin.

Her style is casual fitted sweaters, tailored jeans, flowing dress and delicate boots snug her petite frame.

“Strength isn’t loud—it’s the quiet persistence to keep going.”

Special Agent Ethan Miller

His hair is dark, short, and effortlessly tousled. His face is lean and angular, with striking blue eyes, complementing a sand-toned complexion, a straight nose, and a firm, defined jaw.

His style is tailored but relaxed—crisp shirts, fitted slacks, and polished boots cut his tall, lean muscular frame.

“Control the moment, and you control the outcome.

Breaking Border Trilogy

Breaking Borders is a book trilogy built around a love story that on paper theoretically should never have happened. It follows Isa, an undocumented woman fighting to carve out a life of dignity and hope, and Ethan, the ICE agent who unknowingly crosses her

What begins as a chance encounter grows into a secret, forbidden romance where every glance carries risk, and every touch could unravel everything-Isa could lose her life here, and Ethan could lose his badge, his career, and his freedom.

At its heart, this is Romeo & Juliet set against one of the most urgent backdrops of our time: immigration. It begins with the spark of attraction, rises into a romance forged in secrecy and danger, and culminates in a family fighting for survival, marriage, and legacy.

Both intimate and suspenseful, the trilogy blends the tenderness of Normal People with the grit and high stakes of Queen of the South. It is as much a story of resilience as it is of passion-about what it costs to love when the world insists you cannot, and what triumph looks like when two people refuse to let go of each other. What happens when love collides with the systems built to divide it?

A reminder: identity is more than a career or a circumstance.

People are more than their labels. More than a badge. More than a status.

Identity isn’t a uniform or a document—it’s choice, heart, and humanity.

Who we are can’t be reduced to a badge or circumstance.

I’m committed to adapting the Breaking Borders trilogy into an original series.

Don't Judge This Trilogy By Its Cover

The Breaking Borders trilogy isn't just a taboo romance.

It's a story layered with hidden narratives, humanity, culture, and hope.

People are not status: People are not their badge.

Law vs. Love → when duty collides with the heart.

Culture & Heritage → candles, marigolds, hot chocolate, and stories passed down through generations.

Fear vs. Freedom → every stoplight, every siren, every checkpoint becomes a test of survival.

Hope & Resilience → choosing love in a world built to keep it apart.

This trilogy asks:

Will you stay in a fixed mindset-defined by roles, borders, and fear?

Or grow into a limitless mindset-defined by love, humanity, and choice?

It's not just romance.

It's survival.

It's resistance.

It's transformation

My Process as a Storyteller

I don’t view the world as black and white—or even gray. To me, it’s iridescent, full of shifting light, hidden layers, and unexpected colors. That’s how I write: stories that reveal the shimmer of humanity in places others only see as shadow.

“The world isn’t black and white. It isn’t even gray. It’s iridescent. “- Veyonne Day

I see the world as iridescent, full of shifting light, hidden layers, and unexpected colors. Where others see hard lines or muted tones, I see complexity, contradiction, and beauty woven together. That’s why my characters are never one thing—they bend, they fracture, they shine differently depending on the light. Storytelling, for me, is capturing that iridescence on the page.

For me, storytelling begins with people—not plots. I start by asking: Who are they when no one is watching? What do they fear? What do they long for? My background in psychology and my deep study of the human condition guide me to build characters from the inside out. Before they speak a word on the page, I know their motives, contradictions, and scars.

I separate the person from their role or behavior, because no one is just their badge, status, or past. This lens allows me to write characters who are layered—capable of tenderness and resilience, but also prone to mistakes and fear. That duality is what makes them real.

Once the characters breathe, the story unfolds around them. I weave hidden narratives, suspense and intimacy together—because life is never just one thing. A tender glance might be followed by a siren, a kiss by a betrayal. Love and danger coexist, and I write in a way that honors both.

Above all, my process is rooted in hidden narratives, a growth mindset. I don’t trap my characters in who they were at the beginning. I allow them to stumble, resist, and change. Transformation is the core of my storytelling—because that’s the core of being human.

Isa built her life on quiet strength — her small restaurant, her circle of friends, her ability to keep her head down and survive. Love was never part of the plan. But when Ethan Miller walks in, steady-eyed and impossible to ignore, the rules she’s lived by start to unravel. With him, every look feels like gravity, every moment a risk she shouldn’t take.

Ethan lives by discipline, by loyalty to the badge that defines him. Yet Isa shatters that order with nothing more than a smile. She’s warmth where his world is cold, fire where his life is rigid. But the truth he carries threatens everything — and when it collides with Isa’s deepest fears, both of them must choose. Is love worth breaking the borders that protect them? Or will the lines between duty and desire destroy them both?

Every detail here matters- from the candles, hot cocoa, conchas, La Mariposa’s Marigolds roses and wine.

It’s not just aesthetics. It’s storytelling at its most profound.

Each image ties in a moment where Ethan & Isa’s wall start to crumble. Creating a rich sensory experience

Silencing The Noise

There will always be knee-jerk reactions from those who see only the surface: an ICE agent, an undocumented immigrant, and the assumption that their story is nothing more than a scandal or a taboo. But that view misses the weight, the truth, and the humanity at the heart of this trilogy.

This is not a sensationalized romance. It's a layered story about fear and freedom, culture and resilience, law and love. It is about what happens when two people dare to see each other as human beings first, not roles, not labels.

Projection comes easily to those who have not read the pages, who do not know Isa's sacrifices or Ethan's struggles, who do not sit with the reality of checkpoints, silence, and survival. But for those who do, the story reveals itself as something deeper: not just romance, but survival, resistance, and transformation.

So let the noise exist-but let the story speak louder.

This trilogy isn't about scandal-it's about humanity.

I’m not here to argue or convince, but rather to illuminate. To hold up a mirror to the human condition and invite readers to see what lies beneath the roles, the labels, and the noise. My work isn’t about winning debates—it’s about telling the stories that show our shared humanity, our contradictions, and our capacity to love and transform.

If you only see taboo, or me as a provocative, you've missed the weight of fear, resilience, and love that drives Isa and Ethan's story. It explores interpersonal relationships. It's not just romance. It's survival. It's resistance. It's transformation.

Author Bio

Born to Storytell.

I'm an Author & Story Architect in the contemporary romance–thriller genre. I'm an author redefining what modern love stories can be. My debut trilogy series, Breaking Borders, has earned early buzz for its cinematic pacing, immersive sensory detail, and emotionally gripping exploration of identity, love, and humanity in high-stakes circumstances.

Blending romance, suspense, cultural nuance, and psychological depth, I write for readers who crave emotionally layered love stories grounded in real-world truth. My characters are flawed, brave, vulnerable, and painfully human — the kind readers root for, ache with, and remember.

My signature storytelling focuses on intimacy in all its forms — emotional, relational, cultural nuance, and atmospheric. I write with a filmmaker’s eye, invoking cinematic tension, and a therapist’s intuition, capturing the micro-moments that make love feel inevitable: a breath held, a hand lingering, a truth unspoken. I build worlds readers can step into, breathe in, and inhabit. Crafting stories that feel as real as the people who read them. I believes stories shouldn’t just entertain — they should haunt, heal, and stay.

Drawing from a background in immersive storytelling and emotional world-building, I create narratives that are equal parts heart-pounding, heart-aching, and undeniably human. My work resonates with readers seeking

With a background in narrative design and immersive storytelling, I craft books that feel like experiences: lived-in settings, sensory-rich scenes, rhythmic dialogue, and emotional beats that strike with precision. I'm intentional about representation, character psychology, and building worlds readers can step inside and recognize themselves in.

My writing has resonated with early readers craving romance with depth, tension, culture, and consequence from stories that challenge, comfort, and linger long after the last page.

My writing lives in the in-between spaces: the breath before a kiss, the brush of a thumb against a lip sticky with sugar, the heaviness of silence that says more than words. I build tension not through big declarations, but through small sensory anchors—the smell of cumin, the flicker of candlelight, the grit of gravel outside a window. That attention to texture and atmosphere makes my world feel lived-in, not staged.

Like Cristina Henríquez or Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, you honor heritage and memory, letting food, family, and music carry emotional weight. Like Taylor Jenkins Reid, She write relationships with a cinematic pulse—dialogue that feels overheard, scenes that unfold like film stills. And in the quiet electricity between Isa and Ethan, I'm tapping into the kind of charged intimacy you’d see in Sarah J. Maas’s sharpest romantic beats. My work blends cultural detail with cinematic tension, drawing influence from authors like Cristina Henriquez and Taylor Jenkins Reid. Family, food, and memory carry as much weight as dialogue, and every sensory detail—taste, scent, sound—works to heighten intimacy.

Love written in candlelight and cotton candy—tender, raw, and impossible to put down.

Romance where every glance, every taste, every touch tells its own story.

A love as layered as spice, as fleeting as laughter, as unforgettable as first light.

Where tension smolders, trust is fragile, and intimacy tastes sweeter than sugar.

Not just a romance—an experience of the senses, stitched together with longing.

I write stories where romance lives in the atmosphere—in the breath before a kiss, the weight of silence, the brush of a thumb against lips still dusted with sugar. My characters fall in love not only with each other, but with the textures of life around them; cumin simmering in a pot, the flicker of candlelight, the hum of a crowd at a food truck row.

At the core, I explore how love thrives even when it feels dangerous. My characters are flawed, vulnerable, and magnetic, drawn together in ways they can’t resist. Each story lingers in fragile in-betweens: between trust and betrayal, tenderness and risk, longing and belonging.

— Veyonne

My ethos is simple:

When I'm not writing, I'm developing complementary storytelling experiences including visual assets, character-driven marketing, and community-driven reader engagement — building toward a multi-platform storytelling universe.

I currently reside between the UK & U.S, and I'm preparing for the release of the trilogy and developing the Breaking Borders original series, in addition to expanding her storytelling universe across books, visual media, and interactive reader experiences.

Author's Note:

When I began writing this trilogy, I knew it would be about more than a romance. For me, it was never just about an ICE agent and an undocumented immigrant-it was about what happens when two people, on opposite sides of a divide, dare to see each other as human first.

I've always believed that people are more than their roles, more than their behavior, more than the labels society places on them. A badge does not erase humanity. A status does not erase worth. And love does not obey borders.

Isa and Ethan's story is born from that belief. It is tender and dangerous, fragile and resilient. It is about attraction that feels impossible, choices that carry enormous risk, and the truth that even in the most forbidden places, the human heart cannot be silenced.

My hope is that as you turn these pages, you not only follow their journey, but also reflect on your own-on the ways love, resilience, and compassion can defy fear and transform lives.

Thank you for holding this story in your heart.

Breaking Borders isn’t just a romance — it’s a collision of love, law, and identity. The Valentine’s Day launch will spotlight the novel’s emotional tension and cross-cultural heart, presenting it as the love story brave enough to be concealed with embedded narratives.. A forbidden love. A fractured system. A story about crossing every line.

I’ve poured years into this story — the love, the danger, the humanity, the impossible choice between law and heart.

Many of you have followed pieces of the journey, or heard me speak about it late at night when it was still just a whisper of a book.

Now, I’m creating a limited Early Reader Edition Hardback— a first print run signed by me, with a bonus chapter that will not appear in the final release.

This limited colletcors edition is for the readers who believe in art that feels like something.

For dark romance readers who love love that shouldn’t exist — but does anyway

“I don’t just write stories — I build worlds you can submerge in, inhabit, and feel. Two worlds accidentally collide. One irresistible, forbidden love begins. Breaking Borders, Book One. Signed edition and bonus chapter. Pre-orders are open now.”

My Creative Process

I create the vision first in my mind—layered with psychology, emotion, and humanity—and then I build the vision boards for my readers. My goal is to give them not just words, but a world they can step into. I want them to see the light through Isa’s café windows, feel the tension at every siren, taste the warmth of marigold tea, and carry the weight of choices that blur duty and love.

For me, storytelling is immersive. It’s not just telling what happens—it’s crafting an experience where the reader feels the

heartbeat, the fear, and the hope right alongside the characters.

Reader Promise

I don’t just tell stories—I create a sensory-rich, immersive experience. My writing is meant to be lived, not just read. I want you to feel the chill of night air outside the cabin, smell the marigolds and hot chocolate in Isa’s restaurant, hear the echo of sirens in the distance, taste the sweetness of stolen moments, and see the light shift between danger and tenderness.

Every detail matters, because every sense pulls you deeper into the world. My goal is for you to close the book and still feel the story lingering in your body—as if you were there.
